Anxiously waiting for your Tax refund from the IRS?

Feb 4, 2022

Every day my email box is full of client concerns as they have not yet received their 2020 tax refunds. Its been months, literally months and no sign of their cash. The IRS website also isnt much help and just shows “in process”.

So what to do? Well, the only way to get piece of mind and know that you truely are in process is to call the IRS. I know, groan, that hurts but it is the only way. I recommend calling and getting on hold. Do it when you have time as you may be on hold for an hour or more, if and when you actually make it into the queue. However, once you get someone on the line, they will be able to help you. Please be kind to the person who answers the phone. This is not their fault. They are doing the best they can under difficult conditions.

Now moving forward my suggestion is, try not to overpay your taxes. This problem of delayed refunds is likely to continue for at least the next year. For 2022, only pay what you owe! If you need help understanding what this is and how to make an adjustment, please reach out to us.

We look forward to hearing from you!
