Yesterday I spoke to an experienced firm owner who is handing over his proverbial keys to a team member who has been with him for 17 years. Is she ready? Maybe, maybe not but he is doing everything he can to help her transition into the role and to ensure her success and the continued success of the firm. Financing is in place and now we are stepping in to be her coach and consultant. She has never run a firm before, we have. We can fill the gaps for her and be a sounding board so that her predecessor can step aside with confience and comfort that he did the best by his team and his clients.
Is this the highest offer he may have received for his firm? I dont think so but its not always about the money. Sometimes it is.
