Have you done a deep dive assessment on each of your current team members? Did you use an outside consultant to help you with this assessment? In my experience, we are too close to our team to do an impartial objective assessment. You may have some golden nuggets within your team but your months of hard work have clouded your true view of someone’s potential. Don’t pass up the valuable chance to find your gold and then promote from within. We all know the frustrations and stress related to hiring and then training new team members.
